Circular Logic, LLC Receives Phase I STTR Award from US Air Force
• Grant will support development of neurodynamic models of human attention and perception
Boca Raton, FL, June 13, 2006 -- Circular Logic, LLC, a music software company that markets the InTime Tempo Tracking System™™ for musicians, announced it has been awarded a $92,000 Phase I STTR grant from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. The AFOSR-funded project, entitled "A dynamical model of human attention and perception" will enable the company to demonstrate the feasibility of a neurodynamic model of human attention and perception. Commercial applications of the new technology are expected to include advanced human-computer interfaces, automated systems for analysis of recorded music, cochlear implants that produce a more natural perception of sound for users, and speech recognition systems that perform well in noisy environments.
The Air Force Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program grants are the result of a rigorous peer review by leadings scientists, with a focus on the commercial potential of the proposed technology. Dr. Edward Large, founder of Circular Logic commented, "We are excited to partner with AFOSR to develop technologies based on our emerging understanding of how the human brain processes sensory information.”
